Welcome to the homepage of the Philadelphia UPA Chapter. Perhaps what stands out most, as one walks through the streets of Philadelphia, is the imbalance of opportunities. Amidst the many statues and landmarks praising the founders of our country lie constant reminders that there is room for much improvement. For example, the University of Pennsylvania is the oldest university in the United States, but students quickly learn to be wary of the ghetto-like part of town on the north-west side of the campus. That the University is a profit-driven business is evidenced by the forceful replacement of food trucks and small businesses with expensive restaurants and chain stores.
